Here is a very dynamic oil of the California Desert, creating an array of fine bright color through the eye of an artist. The artist is Elizabeth Schleussner (1881-1956), She became a competent painter after coming to California around 1920. She exhibited around the California southland, competing at many shows and galleries; she even won a prize at the famous Gardena High School Annual Exhibition in 1933/34. From the painting we have here, she was an excellent and talented painter, bringing a true artists eye to the canvas in order to make a lovely painting. It is in excellent overall condition, 16x20 in size (on canvas), and ready to hang.
