Rare early oil painting by long time Laguna Beach, California artist Vincent Farrell (1928-2008). Farrell had a gallery for a long time in the artist town of Laguna Beach. Early on his style was of a more regionalist nature, depicting townscapes, buildings, and people; later on, in the 1970's he developed a much brighter palette, and a looser style of painting. He stayed with this style for the rest of his career. He was a member of the Laguna Beach Art Assn., and won numerous awards over his long career.
I personally like this darker, earlier style of artwork from this talented artist, and the fact that it was exhibited at the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts shows me that Farrell thought a lot of this particular painting as well. It is housed in its original driftwood style frame. with a gold liner substituted for the original linen liner. It is in excellent over all condition, and ready to hang. Another fine painting from the gallery of Vander Molen Fine Art. You can also find us in the internet!
