Large impressionist oil by listed American artist Geoffrey Holt (1882-1977) was born in England, raised in Minnesota, and by 1921 was living in the bay area of San Francisco; by the 1930's he was living in So. California as a fine art painter. Two of his paintings are in the collection of the Society of California Pioneers, and another is in the prestigious Santa Fe Railway Collection. many artists were hired back in the early days to paint scenes of the American West, as advertisements for their many scenic locations during the travels of their trains.
This is a nice large oil, 30x38 in size (image only); it is housed in its original frame, with an old gallery label on the back as well. It is in excellent condition, painted on artist board, and ready to hang. Another fine painting form the gallery of Vander Molen Fine Art
