A fine impressionist oil by Jefferson Stephen Ward (1876-1949), an artist who came out to California in the early part of the twentieth century, studied under Maurice Braun of San Diego, and then settled in Glendale, Ca.,in the 1920's, where he opened an artist gallery with his son Thurlow Ward. He belonged to the California Art Club, the Painters and Sculptors Club of Los Angeles, and exhibited for several years with those venues. This is a nice impressionist example of his work; it is 16x20 in size, housed in its original vintage frame (this can be updated to a nice contemporary plein air frame if needed, at no charge), and is in excellent condition, ready to hang. Offered by Vander Molen Fine Art, where one can see other examples of classic impressionism.
