Pair Simple Towels Self Fringed Vintage 1920s Hand and Face
Pair of vintage 1920s towels, very simple thick soft cotton with self fringe, one with a simple decoration of two rows of faggoting. These were unused trousseau linens from an Italian American bride. They measure 36 inches long, and were intended for use as a hand and face wash towel, before the days when terry loop towels were in common use. The one with the decoration has an area of a thin thread between two lumps of thicker thread, common to this loose weave thick cotton, which is not damage but will eventually break, mentioned for full disclosure. The thread is there, so no break or hole, but it is weak. Freshly hand laundered and ready for your immediate use. I am listing numerous linens this week from the same estate, that of a woman in her 90s and these Italian pieces were her from her mother's trousseau, married in the early 1920s, a first generation Italian American bride. Many items were sent from family in Italy for wedding gifts, and very few were ever used. I will of course combine multiple item purchases for actual cost only shipping, by combined weight.
We do expect payment at time of purchase for single items, just click the Pay Now button on the purchase order. Multiple item purchases can either be paid for at the time of purchase, and we will refund overages on shipping and insurance cost to the penny, or you can wait for an invoice with our adjusted combined weight shipping costs, and then make payment.
