Very vintage 1910s to 1930s Gotham Silver silver plated onto copper convertible serving dish, with a lovely band of ornate roses decoration. The lid can be flipped over and converted to a second serving dish as needed. Pieces that were pated on copper bases were always more costly in their day, and were well made and designed, since copper was never cheap. Measures a hair over eleven and three eights inches x eight and a half inches x 3.75 inches. While it is in good condition for age and use, it is not in perfect condition, as this piece was actually used as intended, and has a corrosion spot and some speckles inside from contact with salty food as shown, and there is a slight bend on the rim lid as shown inside and out, which you have to be looking for to really notice. A small section of the roses rim under one of the handles is dark from plate loss, the only place there is any plate loss, probably a thin area original to this piece's plating process. All this sounds worse than it is, as it is actually in nice condition, and presents very nicely. Freshly hand polished.
