Very vintage, handsome, simple 1920s to mid 1930s Forbes silver plated convertible footed serving dish, with divided insert for keeping two foods separate. The lid is convertible, meaning it can be flipped over to use as a second serving dish, and the base can be used on its own as well, as shown. Forbes marks were retired about 1935, so dates to before then. It is in exceptionally good condition for age and type, usually these have corrosion pitting from salted foods allowed to sit, but this one has been well cared for, and apparently seldom used. Freshly hand polished. It measures 10.5 x 4.5 inches overall. Heavy piece.
