Antique majolica pitcher by Nimy Les Mons in the pattern name "The Tavern". Richly decorated in high relief with a lovely turquoise background and a tavern scene under a sprawling tree. The handle is the shape of a gnarled tree trunk. Patrons drink and dance as the "the bouncer" stands at the door. The inside of the pitcher is a lovely magenta color. The pitcher stands 9" high with a 6" diameter base. It is in very good antique condition with a small chip to the inside rim and a very thin hairline (see photos). These issues are very consistent with antique majolica and do not affect its value. Marked on the base with the pottery mark which dates it to 1893-1906. An impressive piece for the majolica collector.
