Rare pair French boudoir lamps with porcelain shades music boxes
The most charming and rare pair of boudoir lamps I have had the pleasure to acquire. Most unusual domed shape porcelain shades make this pair a pleasure to behold! Add to this, both lamps contain Rouge music boxes in the base which play the sweetest tunes. Beautiful French ormolu with designs of floral and bow swags and bird motifs embellish the lamps. Both lamps have darling bisque figures of cherubs playing musical instruments. You can just imagine them performing as the music box plays. Delicate porcelain flowers peek out from behind the cherubs. The lamps measure 13.5" tall by 4.75" wide by 4.5" deep. Marked on the base "Brevete Made in France". The lamps work perfectly with a 7 watt bulb. Music boxes have been recently oiled and inspected and are in good working order. The only issue to note is one cherub has had restoration--not the best-- but it is really only noticeable on very close inspection and does not detract, in my opinion (see last photo for magnified picture). A fabulous pair of lamps to grace a guest bedroom or powder room or really any French inspired room. You likely won't see another pair!
