Antique French gilt bronze bud vase embellished with a silver bird and jeweled butterfly. The bulbous shaped vase stands 4" high by 2.25" wide at the base and is marked "Marque Deposee". The butterfly is made of a silver metal and has a nice size red (garnet like) stone on its back. Tiny faux pearls and red stones accentuate its features. The tall narrow neck of the vase has a silver swallow which looks as if it had swooped down to catch the butterfly. Some wear to the gilding which is to be expected of a piece dating to the early 20th century. A sweet little piece.
