I did not realize that there was an exposition in San Diego in 1935 until I found this pinback button!! The actual pinback button states "See Me - At - San Diego - Exposition". There is a paper liner in the back that states "The Whitehead & Hoag Co. - Buttons - Badges - Novelties and Signs - Newark, N.J." It has a 7/8" diameter. The entire piece measures 4-1/2" tall x 1-1/4" wide at the skirt. The back of the celluloid lady states "Fairest of Fairs" and at the bottom in tiny letters "Pat. May 16, 1905. Pat. June 6, 1905. The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J." She is made from celluloid.
There is a light spot on the button - it is not foxing. There is a small tear just under her elbow that is best seen on the back. It is very short!!
