This windup toy is very fun. It is a dressed monkey. He is holding a plastic camera. When would his arms go up and down and bring the camera to his face as in the first picture. His tail also spins. He has his original hard plastic hat that does come off. He also has his "Book" that shows some of the pictures he has taken. This windup has a permanent key. It is impressed "Japan" on the bottom of his foot as seen in picture #6. This toy is 6-1/2" tall when the hat is on his back x 2-1/4" wide x 3-5/8" deep with the key. This toy is from the 1950s.
This monkey comes with his original box. It states "Traveller" on the top and all sides of the lid. It also has the symbol "Trade Mark "Alps" in a mountain - Japan". Apparently this toy was also made with a rabbit instead of a monkey. The corners are stapled and are all intact on the top and the plain bottom. This box is 7-3/4" deep x 3-1/4" wide x 2-3/8" tall.
The box shows some wear. There are spots on the top that you can see in picture #8. There is liquid stains that can be seen in picture #7. There is no odor associated with either stains. There are edge chips to the paper on the lid that is seen in picture #9. The plush is worn on his tail as seen in picture#3. Written on the bottom of the box in permanent marker is "522159". If you would like to see this I can email you the picture.
