This awl or hole punch was used in sewing and in embroidery. This awl measures 5-1/4" long x 5/8" wide x 5/8" deep. It is marked on both sides of the handle "Sterling" just under the center flower. The actual tool part is steel that is nickel plated. On the part of the tool that slides it is marked "Trade - with two arches connected by a line - Mark - Pat'd Apr - 6 - 09."
This awl is in nice condition. There are no chips or dents to the handle. The Sterling could use a good polishing!!!
