This is an unusual piece of shell art!! It is in the shape of a slipper. The base is actually a light green piece of wood. The top where the shells are glued is heavy cardboard. There is a cotton string at the end so it can be hung. It states "Benidorm". This is a coastal town in Spain that is on the Western edge of the Mediterranean Sea. It is known for it's tourism!! This slipper measures 8-1/4" deep x 3-1/4" wide x 2-1/2" tall.
This slipper is in nice condition. It is missing 3 shells - 2 from the top front, and one on the right side. There is a shallow crack in the wooden sole of the shoe that is only seen on the inside of the slipper - I could not get a picture of this. But this crack does not go through to the bottom. One side of the cardboard is loose on the side where it attaches to the wood. This is easily glued!! Unusual souvenir piece!! Fun shape!!
