This lovely piece can be used as a serving piece or as a wall plaque. There are 2 holes on the back with wire to hang this plaque. This can be seen in picture #6. This plate is made of hand painted porcelain. It is marked on the back in green ink "crown on top of a laurel wreath PM - Bavaria". The PM stands for Porcelain Moschendorf Factory that was in Bavaria, Germany. This mark was used from 1904 - 1938. The green stands for export. The picture on the front is a pheasant standing in a field of grass. This plaque has an ornate design molded into the edge. This is painted gold. Before this gold border is a dark green painted border. This plaque/plate has a 12-3/4" diameter and is 1-5/8" tall. The plate stand is for display only. It is not included.
The gold edge to this piece shows some wear. There is a close up of this wear in picture #8. It actually makes it a bit shabby chic. The design shows a bit of wear but is still very nice. There is a preglaze factory flaw that can be seen in picture #9. There are a couple of scratches in the green at the bottom of the plate that can be seen in picture #7. There are no chips or cracks.
This would be a nice gift for the game bird, porcelain, or Porcelain Moschendorf Factory collector.
