Exquisite detail in a J. Gould & H.C. Richter hummingbird print. These colorful winged creatures seem to float on air as they perch near their nectar source, a trumpet vine. The wings of the bird on the left are arched over its head as its beak probes for nectar in the flowering vine. Its breast is rendered in a riveting color of deep cerulean. Its mate perched higher on the vine and whose colors are more muted and blends with the foliage, looks on. The print is large and even larger with the framing. Framed size is 23.5" wide by 30" long. The image size is 14.5" x 19" approx. The framing is nicely done, albeit, rather dated, and is matted with a French mat. The printer for this piece was Hullmandel & Walton. Condition is good. Please ignore the glass reflections in several of the photos. The photos were taken around 2:30 p.m. and there was much reflection with which to contend.
