This interesting small image is an original work of art by T. Mae de Ville, of Gallup, New Mexico and was shows the Giant Cactus of that state. The picture is made with desert rocks and sands, and is framed in its original wood frame and signed in the lower right by de Ville. On the back is some printed information about the Giant Cacti which attains 30 to 40 feet in height and lives to be several hundred years old. In the spring, it bears clusters of large, creamy white blossoms. Its habitat is northern Mexico and southern Arizona and is the state flower of Arizona. Size of this original work is 5.25 x 7". Condition is excellent. There is a companion piece depicting the Flowering Yucca. Estimated age of the piece is around 1930.
