Portrait medal of St. Pius X (1835 to 1914) in silvertone medal. The portrait of the Pope is set in an oval frame which is cut out around the Pope's head. On the back is a chalice with the sun over it, and underneath the words, "St. Pius X Pray For Us". Pius, the 257th Pope of the Catholic Church, is the only Pope since Pius V to be canonized. Pius V was born in Italy and was named Giuseppe Sarto. The medal is 1" long and .75" wide. There is a bale at the top so that the medal may be worn on a necklace.
