Beautiful oil painting by listed artist Stepule who was a member of the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester, MA. I believe the group painters working here are known as The Rockport School. Stepule was born around the turn-of-the-century and died around 1970. Stepule's painting are rather scarce, rarely appearing on the market. This ones has lots of blues and grays with colorful accents on the boat.
Stepule exhibited in Gloucester in the late 50s and early 60s. This painting is quite large and is nicely framed, the frame probably also made by the artist. The size of the frame is 30" x 24" and the image size is 24" x 18".
The painting is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner, as shown in the photo.
