This vase immediately captures the eye with its elongated form and heavy paperweight base with dollops of glass pulled from the sides and scooped upward. The thick glass body ends in a stylized flower form top, almost as if the artist had in mind a flower bursting into bloom. The vase is in good condition with no major flaws. There appears to be a bubble pop on one spot low on the vase. A close-up of this has been provided. The little crater is under the surface or embedded in the glass so for that reason it appears to be a bubble that has burst from within. The base is ground and polished smooth. There are no identifying marks on the base but it appears to belong to some of the Italian art glass studios from the 60s and 70s.
