Fantastic book illustrating 10 important Chinese festivals, each festival with a page devoted to it with an illustration and another page of text, explaining in Chinese and English the importance of the celebration. The book is one of two on Chinese culture that I have listed. The other is about famous Chinese horses and generals. The cover of the book with some Chinese characters is on the back and it folds out so it reads back to front. The Chinese version of each festival is on top and the English translation underneath. These are all hand-painted illustration on heavy paper and bound or framed with silk brocade fabric. This special book probably dates to the 1930s or 1940s, maybe earlier. No tears or stains. A bit of wear on the back cover but otherwise excellent. Size is 6" wide and 8" long approx.
