Striking designer runway necklace by Yves St. Laurent. This one is a limited edition piece, so marked on the back of one of first red plaque, as shown, no. 174 of 350. This vintage couture and stunning necklace, a la 1970s, combines alternating plaques of red and blue plastic with brushed, silvertone metal(not sterling) diamond shaped forms affixed to the center of each of the plaques. The red plaques have the base of the diamond pointing down while the blue plaques have the diamond base pointing upward. The plaques are pierced at the top and strong on a blue cord, each end culminating with a silver metal tone bead. The plaques extend about 10" in the center of the necklace with a total length approximately 36". The cord can be tied with a large or small bow depending on how you want to position the necklace at your neckline. A vintage treasure by one of the top designers of the era, sure to grow in value as it is a scarce piece.
