Survey of African and Oceanic Art with many pictures and illustrations in its 264 pages. The booked was originally written in German, and this is an English translation. The cover is brown linen over board with gold stamping on the spine. There is no dust jacket and maybe never was one. The book covers factors which determine the mode of African art, masks, figures and fetishes, sculpture, some sculpture from ancient kingdoms in Africa, decorative and applied art in Africa, and the Art of Oceanic. Much can be learned about what is appearing in today's market by studying this book. Dimensions are 7.5" wide and 8.75" long, and 1" thick. The bottom, top, and sides of the cut pages when viewed when the book is closed show a lot of inking that likely occurred in the press run and is simply residue. But some of it does bleed a bit into the white margins of the inside pages. This book appears to have been a surplus duplicate from a library.
