The Oriental influence is evident in this Maastricht, Holland, earthenware plate in a pattern called "Hong", dating to the 1890s. The rim is luster decorated and the pattern itself depicts pagodas, bridges, lake scenes, and people in an intricate design covering most of the plate. The border is decorated in intricate geometric designs as well as scenic designs with the pagoda dominating the scene. There is a pair of these plates, however, the listing is for one only. Size of the plate is 9.5" and condition is very good. The unusual color combination is rare and perfect for any color scheme where green or red is predominant.
