Hard to find, this pair of Dante cufflinks from the 1950s, was part of the Museum Masterpiece Collection featuring works of art from the Mediterranean. The collection recreated the ancient art of cameo carving in men's jewelry. These authentic Incolay stones are reproductions of original carvings selected from Mediterranean museums where Greek and Roman artists flourished from 400 B.C. to 300 A.D. These cuff links show the head of Caesar in ivory colored Incolay bas relief against a background of green. The stones are set in a textured gold tone metal frame; the name of Dante stamped on the inside of the cuff link mechanism on the back. Condition is excellent.
