Framed vintage engraving of Albany from Van Rensselaer Island in the Hudson River and with remarques at the base of the engraving. The remarques depict Indians smoking a pipe, perhaps with Henry Hudson, and townsmen presenting a scroll to a newly arrived dignitary. The frame is a shallow, shadowbox with concave velvet matting atop an inner beveled mat in a darker shade. The frame is painted and has a bit of paint loss on each of the sides. This could be touched up with an artist's product. Size of the frame is 13" long, 11" high, and 1.5" deep. The image size is 8" long x 6" high. Condition of the print is excellent.
