Well-formed and delicately painted Rose Medallion teapot with a pair of textile wrapped metal handles, a flat lid with indention in the top and decorated rim, and marked "China" on the base in orange/red, the word encircled in an oval lozenge. The teapot features greens, pinks and some blue over a white porcelain body.On each side of the teapot is a round medallion encircling a bird and flower and accented top and bottom with a butterfly. The medallion is flanked with two panels, one depicts floral arrangements with birds hovering over them and the other depicts a court scene with four figures. The shoulder of the teapot is similarly decorated. The paint on one of the panel scenes on the shoulder is very worn, as shown in the picture. On the other side, it is worn but still fairly detailed. No chips or cracks. Only minimal wear to the paint. Height is 5.5" to the top of the pot with handles down and 7.5" approx. with handles up. Diameter of the base is 4.25".
