A Antique Bristol glass sailors rolling pin. The rolling pin is decorated with a center panel of a sailing ship with "Royalist" written beneath and side panels with "William Arnold" on the left and "Gravesend 1854" on the right. These were commonly given as love tokens or gifts by sailors upon embarking on a voyage. One end is open and could allow the storage of salt, tea or other items that you wanted to keep dry by hanging the pin near the hearth so you usually find a string attached to the ends for hanging.
