This is a fabulous and unusually shaped tumbler/small vase hand decorated in the finest Mary Gregory tradition with a young girl gesturing to the birds aloft in white enamel amid an arbor of hand painted garden plants against a highly collectible blue glass background. This gorgeous piece is looks to be hand molded with a slight roughness to the bottom of the base and a few entrained air bubbles, as is characteristic of hand made glass.
This lovely Mary Gregory tumbler/small vase is unusually shaped with gently paneled sides, slightly flared mouth and a extruded ring-like shape above a footed base. This exquisite bit of glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or repairs and the hand applied enamel paint figure is in rich detail with an almost three dimensional appearance. The glass was originally accented with gold highlights which are still visible albeit it worn from years of loving use.
This amazing tumbler/small vase weighs 7 ounces is 5 inches tall, the mouth of the glass measures 2 ¾ inches in diameter and the footed base is 2 ½ inches in diameter. The glass has the chime-like ring of high quality when lightly tapped.
