We have offered here a magnificent 1771 Georgian Sterling Silver Tankard. This one has a slightly bulbous bottom and a flared rim, with an applied handle having an Acanthus Leaf at the top. The tankard is 3 1/8" across the top rim and stands 5" tall. The marks on the bottom has been worn with time, but it still shows the London date mark of 1771. I believe the maker was "William Tuite" from what remains of the mark in the center. This Tankard is in excellent condition with on tiny ding on the side. The attention to detail on the handle is wonderful. I can't say enough about this one. A fabulous find for the collector of Georgian Sterling.
