Early 19th Century Enoch Woods & Sons Red Transfer Tureen - Belzoni
We have offered here a magnificent Antique Red Transfer Tureen in the "Belzoni" pattern from Enoch Woods & Sons. This one is rectangular in shape with a wonderful Hunt Scene pattern done in panels around the sides of both base and cover, and a large scene in the center of the tureen. It has a marvelous Flower Bud Finial on the top, and a Grape pattern to finish the decorations. The base is marked with "E.W.& S.", which is a mark used from 1818 to 1846 by this maker in Burslem. This one is 12 1/2" across, 9 1/2" wide, and stands 7 1/4" with the finial. The Tureen has a couple of chips to the inside of the base (see photos), and all over crazing with some minor staining. This one makes a magnificent piece of Early English Transfer Wares.
