Friedrich Simon was a decorating studio that existed from 1900 to 1945. The label is a flag - Carlsbad fine porcelain/Made in Bohemia. Most of the listings I see show "made in Czechoslovakia, which makes me feel this cup is pre-World War I. Friedrich Simon also used a Crown stamp which began in 1921. The porcelain is from Royal Austrian Factory (beehive mark) - but the decoration is F. S.
The ground color is a very deep and rich reddish brown - burnt sienna. The cup interior is completely gilded as is the simple loop handle. The portrait appears to a wedding procession with a man and veiled woman hold hands while two gentleman and a woman follow. The same portrait transfer is used in the well of the saucer. The border from the cup rim and saucer rim is special. Gilded fan plums drape from the border.
The saucer measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter with the cup measuring approx. 3 7/8 in diameter. The set is in very good condition. There are no chips or bites.
