This was a popular form of art in the early mid-century period. It is actually a reverse painting on the glass placed over a gold plate. Of course the frame is black, this time with a gold paint on the inner edge. The picture is called "At the Garden Gate". The original back is not present, so there is no indication of manufacturer or the like. But the previous owner did purchase it in 1971 at a central Florida flea market - tidbit revealed on the back. So it had time to make from the home to the garage sale by then. Its old.
It is 11 inches in height and 8 inches in width. It is very good condition with no issue to report other than the back should be sealed to protect it.
