These are AWESOME. Look at the size of them. I've seen my share of cast claw and ball feet over the years but never anything like these. What could they have come off? Usually you see them on old cast bathtubs or wood stoves but these, because of their size, I don't know. I guess maybe they may have come off an old tub. Any ideas folks???
Like I said, big, and HEAVY, coming in at 9.75 pounds a piece. I'm selling them just the way I found them at a country estate sale last fall. They could use a good sand blasting to remove the rust but I'm thinking once they're done, they'll be outstanding pieces of cast iron works with their large eagle talon claws and fleur-de-lis backed design.
I've done lots of research on claw and ball cast iron feet and I've yet to find any this big. These truly are works of art, which I'm thinking are probably at least 100 years old. Just under 10 inches tall and 8 3/4 inches at their widest point.
