This elegant Victorian silver-plate champagne bucket is made by the HOMAN MANUFACTURING COMPANY of Cincinnati Ohio established in 1847 and fully marked on the bottom .
Nicely proportioned , ...... tapered, fluted oval shape, round bottom , with heavy 'carved' repousse scalloped edging and piercing at four equal stations . Very pretty all over , but the best details are the wonderful detailed lion heads holding the 'stirrup' handles in their mouths . ......
Well made and in great condition. ......Complete with signs of normal use, small dents , mainly at the base with minimal light scratches . Not bad for nearly a 150 years old . ...... Monogrammed in three florid letters on one side , the letters too entwined for my eyes at the moment to make out . Hopefully the pictures will help if the monogram is important . Part of the charm and design now for me . ...... Some normal wear to the bottom interior surface around the raised disk that holds the bottle exactly in the middle of the bucket .
