Vintage Ella Cone Modernist Silver, Carved Jadeite & Nephrite Cabochon Brooch
Fresh from a fine coastal Maine estate, this beautifully composed brooch features a wonderful, 45 x 23-mm (1 3/4 x 7/8-inches) Jadeite gemstone with pretty orange-pink-peach color tones in the center, a pair of 9-mm (3/8-inches) spinach green Nephrite Jade cabochons at each end and a sinuous silhouette with graduated silver granules/beads. The Center gemstone is pierce-carved with a Chinese-influenced floral-and-foliate pattern and very nicely mounted in a handmade conforming bezel, and the brooch has a heavy silver framework with a locking pin-back and an applied plate marked, "Cone Sterling." In excellent condition, this collectible mid-century brooch measures 2 7/8 x 1 3/16-inches overall and weighs 30.8 grams.
