Fine Mid-Century Vintage Navajo Silver, Turquoise And Coral Cuff Bracelet Signed
This hand-crafted cuff bracelet has a great mix of Turquoise and red Coral gemstones and silver ornaments in a beautifully composed presentation across its 1 7/8-inch top-to-bottom face. The pear shaped, 35- x 27-mm (1 5/16 x 1 1/16-inches) Turquoise cabochon has classic sky blue tones shot with dramatic black matrix, the rich combination striking in juxtaposition to the deep red Coral, which includes two each of 14- and 12-mm (9/16- and 7/16-inches) lozenge shaped and round cabochons. There are two sizes of silver half-beads, rope-twisted wire and a scalloped silhouette above amatte black oxidized background finishing the gemstone mounting, and the sturdy, five-strand shank has 1 3/4-inch, applied silver ferns on each side. In excellent vintage condition with "Fern" hand-scratched into the back, the bracelet tests positive for sterling silver, measures 1 7/8-inches top-to-bottom at the face, 5 5/8-inches around the oval inner circumference with a 1 1/4-inch gap and weighs 60.7 grams.
Turquoise, along with Blue Topaz, Tanzanite and Blue Zircon, is the birthstone for December and the 11th anniversary gemstone. It's been used in jewelry since prehistoric times and is the most popular gemstone in ethnic and tribal jewelry.
