Vintage Navajo Emily Benally Sterling Silver Coral And Turquoise Ring
features fine blue and green Turquoise and red Coral cabochons in a showy setting with silver beads, flowers, feathers and silver wire scrollwork against a matte black background. The Turquoise cab has deep blue-green color tones with no matrix, and the Coral cab is highly saturated with tomato red tones, both strikingly rich and conspicuous against the warm silver patina and oxidized background. The ornamentations are artfully arranged across the graceful lines of the ring's 1 3/8 x 1-inch face, and the ring is in excellent condition, marked with the artist's cipher of Navajo Emily Benally, tests positive for sterling silver, measures a size 6.5 (sizable) and weighs 9.3 grams.
Turquoise, along with Blue Topaz, Tanzanite and Blue Zircon, is the birthstone for December and the 11th anniversary gemstone. It's been used in jewelry since prehistoric times and is the most popular gemstone in ethnic and tribal jewelry.
