I am delighted to offer for your consideration an incredible and large Pairpoint silver-plate centerpiece featuring winged cupids/putti.
The centerpiece is marked with with the Pairpoint Mfg Co. stamp, designated quadruple plate, and with the mold/style #2112. It is quite substantial measuring 11" tall and 10" wide, and weighing nearly 7 pounds. To confirm its age, the top rim is engraved with the presentation "Ada & Albert May 10th 1882". How very special to know the purpose of the centerpiece and that it most likely was given to the couple on their wedding day or anniversary.
The Pairpoint silver-plate centerpiece has an enormous bowl measuring 9-1/2" across and approximately 2-1/2" deep. The central stem holding the bowl has two bands of raised ferns. The edge of the footed plinth or platform is decorated with more ferns and flowers and two winged cherub pensively; one facing the front of the centerpiece and the other decorating the back. On either side of the cherubs that are small round recessed areas that are adorned with sprigs of flowers.
This piece is amazing and can be used in countless ways. Just in time for the holidays it can be displayed with lovely Xmas inspired potpourri to add sparkle and scent to your festivities. Or perhaps it would look stunning on your running board or table with luscious fruit for the offering.
The Pairpoint centerpiece is in excellent condition. There is no plate ware, repairs or restorations.
