I am thrilled to offer for your consideration an exquisite Limoges jardiniere/planter/vase bearing mark 3 of the Delinieres Factory (circa 1894). My oh my. The colors are breathtaking and the roses executed with superb talent.
The jardiniere/planter stands 10.5" tall on its four scrolled feet and measures 8.5" across at the mouth opening. It comes in just shy of 36" in circumference at its widest. The background porcelain is predominantly a pale green that is splashed with just a tinge here and there of soft beige and apricot with the bottom third of the jardiniere done in a dark jade green that screams drama and richness. Against this intense canvas, the artist has hand painted simply stunning and gorgeous enormous white and apricot roses covering almost every inch of the porcelain. The white roses have wonderful yellow centers and the blooms are surrounded by lush green foliage. The top rim of the mouth opening is done in heavy gold gilt which runs down and covers the inside. The gold that encrusts the mouth rim also dips down into the body of the jardiniere/vase and forms extravagant flourishes and fret work. The effect is breathtakingly magnificent.
The jardiniere/planter is in excellent, nearly pristine condition. There are no scuffs or scratches. There are no flea bites, chips, cracks or hairlines. There is but just the slightest wear to the gold on the mouth rim and on the scrolled feet.
