I have for your consideration a lovely Limoges jardiniere/planter/vase bearing the William Guerin underglaze factory mark 3 (circa 1900) and initialed by the artist, WB.
The jardiniere/planter/vase stands 9" tall and 9" across in diameter at the mouth opening which is trimmed in gold as is the footed base.
The background porcelain is a sweet pale yellow that has areas tinged sky blue and soft salmon. A small burst of purple and cranberry red add to the medley of color. Against this pleasing canvas, the artist has hand painted enormous yellow and apricot roses with dark intense golden amber centers. The roses are nestled among thick tufts of green and blue foliage with some roses on long woody thorned stems tumbling towards the base. One section is enhanced with swirling blue ribbon like flourishes causing some lovely blooms to appear to be in a fancy cartouche.
The colors are simply wonderful. The jardiniere/planter/vase is in excellent condition. There is but minor wear to the gold. There are no scratches or scuffs to the painted surface. There are no cracks, chips, flea bites, flakes, hairlines, or spiders.
Note: The plinth/base is not included. Pictures with the plinth are provided so that you may see its true loveliness when displayed on a pedestal/plinth.
