This is an unusually large metal Victorian shoe pin cushion. See photo with standard size coffee cup. The shoe is 7" long. Most of these pin cushions are much smaller. It is a common metal that has a gold colored gilt finish that has some age spotting as fairly shown in the photographs. the silk fabric is loose because some padding underneath has compressed or is missing. It is marked "USA" on the bottom. A really nice addition to any sewing collection.
