Signed Morel Ladeuil relief sculpture electroformed by Elkington of England, ca. 1870. This depicts St. Michael slaying the dragon in graphic realism, and is large and impressive, measuring 14.25" at it's maximum dimension. The details are nothing short of incredible, and pictures could never do this piece justice....it must be seen to be appreciated. Looks like solid gold, and I'm not sure what metal is is formed from, but surely it's gold plated. It just glows with an untouched original surface. There are four mounting brackets on the back as seen in the pictures. The plaque is signed in several places by both Elkington and the artist. Condition is excellent and original with no damage or repairs to the metal. There are some dark areas to the finish, but I don't want to touch those, and this displays with majesty and magnificence!
