Vintage 1930s Dress & Swing Jacket Printed Sewing Pattern

Vintage sewing pattern from the late 1930's is from McCall's pattern company. The dress and "swing hem" jacket are classified in the emerging fashion market of the times as "Sportswear" for women. Early 20th Century fashion had no real place for these designer fashions, so grouped them together under "sportswear" regardless of the functionality (or not).

The pattern is designer for "modern" style dresses, one has a top-stitched V-shaped neckline in both front and back, the other has a square neckline in the front. Both has design area in the back as an open slit ("risque!"), or one could sew the back entirely without the slit. The pattern also includes a tailored jacket with a fold-over collar and a fun "swing-style" hem, meaning the hem line is much wider than the body and is meant to be "swirly-twirly". A very "cool" fashion/trendy item for any era!

The pattern size is 16. The dress is close-fitting (although easily altered because of its simplicity).

The pattern is UNCUT and Unused in original factory folds. The pattern envelope is in Very Good condition with a small fold-over edge (all the way down from top to bottom-about 1/4" fold). There are some tiny "nicks" at corners and some wrinkling and fading. Overall, very good condition for an 80+ year old paper item!
