Elegant mahogany display cabinet imported from England and dating back to the very early 1900's.
This beautiful piece boasts an intricate inlaid urn pattern with swags and bows to the softly curved bow front cupboard door. Its elegant shape is also accented with lines of inlay.
There is a narrow display case on each side with a fabric lined interior and 3 shelves. The fabric is original and only has a few minor spots and some fading. The glass looks to be original and is in excellent condition.
Taking center stage is a large beveled oval mirror which is in excellent condition.
The whole thing stand on 4 slender, tapered legs and is in solid, sturdy condition.
The doors each have original decorative metal handles. The interior locking mechanism of the left display cabinet is missing and there is no key to the remaining 2 which are still intact.
There has been some movement in the wood due to climate change which has caused a crack in the top front of the mirror frame and some slight splitting to the sides directly next to the mirror section. I have tried to show this in the pictures and as you can see it does not take away from the over all beauty and charm of this piece. There is also some minor wear throughout and some scratching on the interior shelves of bow front cupboard.
Over all this is a wonderful piece of antique English furniture which has developed a rich mahogany patina. Its size and function gives it the versatility to be used in many places around the home such as in a dining room or even as an entry way piece.
