Stunning pair of large Chinese carved Cinnabar Lacquer apothecary jars, From the 1930's. Heavily carved- each is unique. The lids come off and the jars are free standing upon the rosewood stands made for these jars. Impressive at 13 1/2 " tall. With stands- 15 1/2 ". About 7 " at widest point. There is some worn lacquer loss at the top edges and in the inside of the urns which are painted black lacquer- not visible unless opened. I have many more pictures available. Please email me if you wish to see insides, bases and lids. These jars came from a Philadelphia collector who traveled extensively to the far east and I was fortunate to acquire them. No loss of carving. The insides are painted black lacquer. I have not cleaned these, this includes the stands and the jars and they are in the condition they were from the collector. I have shown each of the jars from all sides. The stands are marked and engraved Made in China. Absolutely gorgeous as a pair and all original and an outstanding find. Very carefully packed and shipped. Please email questions.
