An Art Nouveau antique 14k White Gold necklace with a filigree center station that supports two floating Opal drops with engraved cup tops on chain. The negligee style necklace with two drops is the predecessor of the lavaliere or single drop necklace and can date back as far as the Art Nouveau Era. This necklace has a rolo style chain and a tag marked 14k. The necklace has also been acid tested and appears to be all original. The neck length is 15 inches and can easily be paired with a chain or chain extender to increase the neck length or change the drop. From the center pierced white Gold metal worked center station to the end of the longest drop is two inches. The opal chips that are floating in the glass bulbs are colorful and bright and not ‘dead stones’ without color or the opalescent glows. The glass encased Opal drops themselves are each 3/4” long and the entire necklace is in excellent condition. Truly a neutral, this antique necklace has lots of wear left in it and it can easily be worn as a daytime or evening necklace and with any kind of attire. A true heirloom piece, this is a necklace to hand down from generation to generation and will certainly be a welcome addition to any jewelry collection.
