This three piece opaline dresser set dates to around the 1880's. Dresser sets were popular between the 1870s to the 1890s. The quality of the painting is outstanding.
Decorated motives on dresser sets included flowers, butterflies, birds and animals. Animal decorated dresser sets are rare as they are not seen as often as the other decorations.
This dresser set has been decorated with several figural sheep in a meadow setting. The sheep are painted in raised enameled decorations which speak to the quality of this piece. The color of the opaque glass is a grayish green and the painting is superb.
The height of the power puff is about 6 1/4 inches high. The height of the cologne bottles are about 9 1/4 inches high each.
Condition: The painting is in perfect condition. The gold decorated portion shows some lost of gold. The powder jar has minor flee bits along the inside rim - see picture. One of the stoppers has a surface crack that you can feel when you run your fingers thru the glass. However, the stopper is stable, Please see picture #8.
