These antique paste-set tiaras are scarce. This one is tall and very detailed, and it sparkles and shimmers all over the place! I could not get my camera to do justice to this amazing head piece which sparkles and twinkles beautifully in night lighting. It is so much more beautiful than my pictures depict.
The paste rhinestones are in colors of gray and clear. The larger stones are the clear ones. The gray colored stones are not darkened from age but were made in that color and were used to give the head piece contrast and texture. The tiara is made of pot metal which has been silver plated; typical of these old head and hair ornaments during the Edwardian and Art Deco eras.
The condition of this piece is excellent. All of the original stones are in place with none replaced or damaged. The patina of the silver plated pot metal is also in fine condition with no verdigrise. The tiara will fit an average head size. There is a chain at the back which could be extended if you need to make the piece bigger around.
The tiara measures 3 1/2" tall in the front center, and it graduates down in height to one inch tall at the back. There are thirteen sections mounted on a circular head band.
