This is one of my very favorite natural sapphire rings.......its color, its very unusual, beautiful setting, the lovely diamonds......what a perfectly gorgeous ring! It would make a perfect engagement or wedding ring, if you love sapphires, "something blue" for your special day. So many Victorian brides chose sapphires. This lovely mid-century ring would be perfect as an engagement ring, or for those of us with September birthdays. I hope you fall in love with it as I did!
There is one medium dark blue prong set sparkling sapphire with bright intense, almost cornflower blue color, of moderately high saturation, with good intensity, and a good cut. Surrounding the sapphire are eight round prong set full cut diamonds, weighing approximately 32/100 of a carat. The diamonds are near colorless with a gorgeous G/H/I color, lovely SI1-SI2 clarity.
The unusual setting is set in stamped & tested 14K yellow gold with a tapered shank with a tiered cluster crown, meaning the ring has 58.3% fineness of pure gold Notice the decorative floral gold work in between each prong, below the sapphire, and above the diamonds. The ring measures 7/16ths of an inch from east to west and from top to bottom, and sits up 1/4 of an inch from the finger. The total piece weighs 4.03 grams.
Ring size 5.5, the ring can be easily sized up or down by a good jeweler.
